Scanning through hours of video taken of images of ancient sculptures, the software accumulates a multitude of face-views. 120,000 faces are merged for each second of the video; each video is created from as many as 32,000,000 face-images.

The six videos of the series Faceness (2015) offers a perspective shifting between the specific and the universal, the temporal and the eternal. Each of us locates our individuality in our face; however, it’s our "faceness" that connects us to the experience of being human, unbounded by time and difference.

Faceness was exhibited in Proportio, Palazzo Fortuny, 2015 Venice Biennale, and as a solo exhibition at Axel Vervoordt Gallery, Antwerp, December 2015 - January 2016.
